Book Review: Let's Celebrate Navratri! (Maya & Neel's India Adventure Series) by Ajanta Chakraborty and Vivek Kumar

Greetings All,
Festive season has begun. We start with Navratri or Nine nights which signify how Good wins over Evil.
This festival is celebrated in different ways all around India. 

To help my kids get a gist of the cultural significance of this Festival, I read to them: Let's Celebrate Navratri! from Maya & Neel's India Adventure Series.

After reading the book, my daughter is asking how we are setting up the Kalash and the Diya which should stay alighted for Nine days & nights. 
From Book: Celebrate Durga Puja With Me! by Shoumi Sen, we can differentiate between Goddess Durga and Amba Devi.
All thanks to these Books. Even getting this understanding of the festival is a great achievement for me. 

Story:

Maya and Neel, the siblings love traveling on adventures along with their squirrel Chintu. This time they have arrived in Gujrat just in time to witness the Navratri festival. They visit their Kaka, Kaki, Baa and cousin Hiral. Here they get to see all the different preparations and the way the Nine nights of Dancing and Fun are celebrated.

What I liked:

The book covers nine nights without overload of information or a lag in the story tempo. The level of excitement with information is consistent throughout the book. 

The language is simple and the illustrations are bright, cheerful and depict the story well. 
The Book shows the colorful attire, food, music, dance, fun and excitement in full galore. Everything which this festival is known for, the story and illustrations do full justice to it. You are tempted to dress up and start dancing. 

The book is a great way to introduce the festival to kids. So its perfect for International audience too.  

Like I mentioned in the other Book Reviews of Maya and Neel Adventure Series books, I love the 

Pronunciation guide, Info Zoom and Info Recap. It gives a chance for parents to understand how much the children understood the book and story.

I cant resist showing you the illustrations and snippets from the book. I am sure you will love the book because of these glimpses.

What I wanted more:

We are enjoying all the books from the Maya and Neel India Adventure Series.
