What I liked:

Mystery in the true sense. It was exciting to read a mystery after a long time with kids as the investigators. Reminded me of all the Famous Five, Secret Seven and Nancy Drews mysteries I have read.

This is Book 1 in the Mystery Crackers Book series.

The story is fast paced. Simple and good language. The twists are plenty.
I liked the quick thinking of the twins and also their free-spirited nature. Its a stark difference from Adult mystery and Children's mystery books. There is hope and excitement throughout the story.

Few characters but each one did their job perfectly. I liked the twins, their parents, grandmother and Mrs.Bolchand. Inspector Gulkand was the perfect snooty and dominating police officer.

I also loved the description of Jhiljila Town, the boys cycling and the Jhiljila Dance festival. Simple things weaved into a story which relates to a free, carefree childhood. Good traits of well groomed kids from respectable families.

The end twist and contents of the Chest are mind blowing. Loved the rescue mission plotted by the twins to free their father. Loved how the detectives make their calculations, deductions and how they solve the mystery.

I am eager to read Book 2 of the series. Have it on my Kindle. Let you know the review for it too soon :)

What I wanted more:

I was surprised that the twins had girlfriends. The mother in me found that a little hard to believe :) But who am I kidding, 14 yr olds do have girl/boyfriends these days :)
But I liked the way the relationship is shown.

Author Jinal Doshi looking forward to more books from you. Keep writing.
