What I liked:

The air of suspense. The humor in each situation. The teenage lingo and thought process. Sarcastic but thought provoking quotes and instances.
This book is in league of Fantasy Fiction and is Book 1 of Book Series: Pari and Nakul

This book is like a delicious treat which you cant stop savoring. Mix of everything. Right for Middle grade or Young Adult genre. But you need not put a cap on the age limit for this book. It does have instances of bullying and it makes you cringe as well as get angry.

I loved the pulsating fear following us like a shadow throughout the book. A.M.Rain, I enjoyed how you have sketched each of the characters. Even the bullies. I could visualize Principle Mary and Kalpi easily.

I most enjoyed the Pari's curt, sarcastic thoughts as replies. It was a fresh view into the minds of a teenager with a vivacious mind. The lingo used is funny and the dialogues like a whip. Special points for that. The Dialogues always make me enjoy Varsha Dixit (aka A.M.Rain)'s books.

The description of each place and situation is crystal clear. Another trait of Varsha Dixit's writing.

The inner workings of a child growing into a teen is seen with Pari's self-talk. How she is angry most times, how she tries to reprimand's herself for upsetting Kalpi, her turmoil of taking down the bullies but very sure she will be charged as the culprit so she bears it for the greater good.

Subtle mention and beautiful handling of topics like bullying, peer pressure, depression, rebel streak, Anger issues, mother's love and loss of loved one.

The mystery air about a secret Kalpi wont disclose and the building tension of what Pari's hands can do, makes the book difficult to put down. Since it is a short book, it feels like a chocolate which was over before you could identify its flavor.

The end was abrupt. It was sort of snap and shut. I checked if I skipped any pages but nope.
I wanted to read more of the story.
